About the Book
My Journey: Fifty Years Chasing Clean Cars and Clean Air is a deeply personal and inspiring memoir that traces Michael P. Walsh’s life from a childhood in New York to becoming one of the world’s most influential voices in air quality and vehicle emissions.
Spanning five decades, the book blends family history, personal struggle, and global environmental policy. Walsh takes readers inside the birth of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the landmark Clean Air Act, and international efforts to reduce pollution across the United States, Europe, and China.
This is not just the story of environmental reform — it is the story of resilience, love, loss, and purpose.
“I had flown almost ten million miles over the course of my career, and any more hours scrunched in a bumpy plane had no appeal to me — but the story still needed to be told.”
— Michael P. Walsh
